|Even from early on, growing up in New York City, I was artist. After my grandmother taught me how to sew, I intuitively designed my own clothes and costumes. I enjoyed design and drawing, and sought to find my calling with the blessing of my mother, who encouraged me to find and live my dreams. It was at the High School of Art and Design in Manhattan where I discovered and began cultivating my one, true passion - photography.
For those who like me who love food, you will be happy to know that I began with food photography. I remember retouching a photo of a lobster so that it was shaded a deeper red, making it appear as fresh and delicious as the client wanted. My focus was and still is always on what my clients want; I photograph the story they want to tell about their product, their place, their company, or themselves.
For over twenty-five years now, I have built a commercial and client base for my fashion and editorial photography, with work ranging from corporate headshots and actor/artist headshots, to beauty/boudoir and glamour shots, and to wedding photography. For instance, I have photographed those in every industry with companies including Prai Cosmetics, Fubu Entertainment, Limited Brands, Artisan Complete, Biacci, Ketchum, W Hotels, Oppenheimer Fund, Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank, the Cipriani Group, City Parks Foundation, Muscular Dystrophy Association, etc. In addition, I have worked directly with magazines for editorials, one of which featured Donald Trump, with Montel Williams to promote his clothing line, with Naomi Campbell to develop stills for a video project, with filmmaker Amit Gupta for natural, candid portraits, with the late Ed McMahon for a Muscular Dystrophy Association event, and much more.
Currently, I am working with a designers and stylist on a series entitled The Air & Motion Series, which features a number of artistic images conceptualizing flight, movement, and landing. My ongoing work with collaborators from the fashion industry includes personal projects that will further refresh and develop my style. One example includes test shoots with uniquely styled shoes from the UK, as created by Irregular Choice. These photographs showcase the European shoes in a dramatic, central setting.
